Understanding your deposit insurance coverage
Bank of Walker County is an FDIC-insured institution and for you our valued customer, this means that your qualifying deposits are insured by the federal government.
In the event of unforeseen issues with the bank, be it acts of God or business failure, your deposits of up to $250,000 are insured against these circumstances by the FDIC, guaranteed.
As is the case with any insurance coverage, there are limits and requirements that must be met. FDIC has developed a tool called EDIE (Electronic Deposit Insurance Estimator) that you can use to help determine your deposit insurance coverage. Once you enter the required information, you will know exactly what coverage you have and knowing will give you great peace of mind.
Using EDIE is easy and takes only a few minutes. Just click the link below to get started. Have your account numbers and balances handy. Also if you have joint accounts or trust accounts with beneficiaries, you will need those names as well. Additionally, to check business accounts, the business name and Employer Identification Number (EIN) will be required.
